White masterbatch is a new kind of polymer composite coloring material which is made by dispersing high proportion colorant, carrier resin and various auxiliaries. Colorant is the basic component of Color Masterbatch, and its content is generally between 20%-80%. Resin is the carrier of white masterbatch. It has the characteristics of heating softening, cooling hardening and no chemical reaction.  The resin is evenly distributed in the process by melting and shearing. In order to ensure the compatibility between the carrier and the colored plastic, the same kind of resin is usually selected as the carrier, which is conducive to better dispersion of the colorant. Dispersants are auxiliaries, which make the coloring agent disperse evenly in the resin and do not coalesce.  At present, the commonly used dispersing agents are polyethylene low molecular weight wax, stearate and ethylene glycol. According to the usage and performance requirements of the products, various additives, such as antistatic agent, antioxidant, brightener, light stabilizer, foaming agent, antimicrobial agent, matting agent, flame retardant and so on, should be added to the preparation process of color masterbatch, so as to endow the plastic products with special functions.

  White masterbatches can be divided into ordinary color masterbatches and functional color masterbatches according to their special functions. Ordinary color masterbatches can satisfy the coloring of plastic products. Functional color masterbatches give special functions to plastic products while coloring them, such as making colored plastic products have antistatic, weather resistance, foaming, antibacterial, extinction and resistance.
